Garuda Indonesia to Launch Jakarta-Doha Flight Route in Partnership with Qatar Airways

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian airlines Garuda Indonesia will operate the Jakarta-Doha round trip route starting April 4, 2024, as a way to strengthen the aviation network in the Middle East.
Despite operating only for two months, the tickets will be available to purchase starting Tuesday, February 6, 2024. The launch of the Jakarta-Doha route is the result of a partnership between Garuda Indonesia and Qatar Airways.
The Jakarta-Doha flight will be available once a day using a B777-300ER aircraft with a 393-passenger capacity, 26 business class seats, and 367 economy seats.
The direct flight to Doha will be available with GA 900 embarking from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport at 06:20 p.m. local time and arriving at Hamad International Airport at 11:00 p.m. local time.
Meanwhile, the flight to Jakarta will depart with GA 901 from Hamad International Airport at 02:25 a.m. local time and arrive at Soekarno-Hatta Airport at 03:00 p.m. local time.
Executive Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra said that the launch of this route is part of the airline's commitment to present more diverse flight routes.
"We hope this route will promote bilateral relationship between Qatar and Indonesia as well as facilitate visitors from Qatar," Irfan said in an official statement cited on Wednesday.
Irfan also expected this new Jakarta-Doha route to attract more Qatari tourists to visit various top destinations in Indonesia.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer also welcomed Garuda Indonesia's step to launch daily flights to Doha. Al-Meer said Indonesia was one of Qatar Airways' important markets to develop its aviation network.
