Fifth Presidential Debate: Anies Baswedan Promises to Provide Social Assistance for the People

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate number 01 Anies Baswedan, during the fifth presidential debate, said that he would provide social assistance or Bansos to the people and the community. This assistance aims to ensure that people can continue to live a decent life.
"We are not giving social assistance for the benefit of the giver, but for the benefit of those who are accepting the bansos," said Anies, while conveying the vision and mission at the fifth presidential debate, at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Central Jakarta, Sunday evening, February 4, 2024.
Anies also offers programs that ensure people can continue to live healthy lives. And if they are sick, they can get quick help at an affordable costs, and their family will be prosperous and their wages are promised to be decent.
"Because of that, our mission is firm, to create a nation that is healthy, intelligent, prosperous, cultured and united," said Anies, who is paired with Muhaimin Iskandar.
Initially, Anies explained about the economy which is now controlled by a handful of people. "A handful of people control most of our economy," he said.
Anies explained that the Republic of Indonesia was founded with its founders being educated people and people who had privileges. "But they founded the Republic for everyone. Not for the interests of themselves, their group or their family," said Anies Baswedan.
