TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo, during tonight's presidential debate, mentioned the issue of education and culture which must be developed together. Ganjar promised to facilitate access to inclusive education if he wins the 2024 presidential election.
“So we must build education and culture together. "Good access to education, more inclusion," said Ganjar in the presidential candidate debate at the Jakarta Convention Center or JCC, Senayan, Jakarta, on Sunday, February 4 2024.
Apart from that, Ganjar will also improve the curriculum and better facilities. Ganjar said this would apply not only to students, but teachers and lecturers.
"Then there is a strong curriculum and of course the facilities provided must be able to provide good access for our students, including teachers and lecturers," said Ganjar.
Not only that, Ganjar also mentioned the figure of female activist Kalis Mardiasih who sent a message to pay attention to groups that were considered to have been marginalized.
“Mr Ganjar, pay attention to those who have been marginalized. "There are two main ones, women's groups and people with disabilities," said Ganjar, imitating Kalis' words.
According to Ganjar, inclusive schools are needed so that there is no discriminatory treatment and students can work according to their respective skills.
"Please really, schools are more inclusive and they don't receive discriminatory treatment, after that they can work and of course the skills they get through good education will respond to good income and wages," said Ganjar.
Ganjar Wears Varsity Jacket at Tonight's Presidential Debate
Presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo arrived at the Jakarta Convention Center or JCC at around 18:00 local time. Initially, Ganjar appeared to have arrived with vice presidential candidate Mahfud Md. wearing a black shirt and trousers, while Mahfud wore a white shirt with black trousers. However, Ganjar appeared different after entering the debate forum.
Ganjar was seen wearing a black varsity jacket with white stripes with some of his top programs written on it. Mahfud also wore this jacket when accompanying Ganjar in a debate this evening.
Deputy Media Channel for the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN), Karaniya Dharmasaputra, explained that Ganjar's clothing was an appreciation of the wave of statements by chancellors and universities which recently criticized President Jokowi's government and the condition of democracy. Apart from being a form of appreciation, Karaniya said that the same as previous debate attire, this time's attire was also closely related to the debate theme.
"Wearing a varsity jacket that is typical of students gives Mas Ganjar more soul, because in the theme of this final debate, Mas Ganjar will discuss a lot about the future of HR (human resources), the future of our next generation of young people," said Karaniya on Sunday, January 4, 2024, as quoted in the written statement.
Apart from that, Karaniya also said that the varsity jacket is a symbol of achievement, honor and team spirit. By wearing it, said Karaniya, Ganjar-Mahfud wants to inspire people about the importance of hard work, dedication and togetherness in achieving common goals.
"This is a choice that is not only about style, but also a commitment to the work of the nation's children. "Because the Raw Type Riot, the creative idea came from students in campus dormitories," said Karaniya.
