TEMPO.CO, JakartaBooking.com reveals the most welcoming destinations of 2024. The top ten cities, selected based on the number of accommodation providers, received the 2024 Traveler Review Award.

Booking.com compiled the list based on more than 309 million verified customer reviews. Only customers who have actually stayed at an accommodation, rented a car, or rode in a taxi can leave a review of their experience on Booking.com.

Topping the list is Arraial d'Ajuda, a town south of Porto Seguro, which is known as one of Brazil's best beach destinations. Contrary to the crowded Porto Seguro, Arraial d'Ajuda offers a calm and serene atmosphere by enjoying the beautiful architecture and landscape of colorful houses all across the area.

The next position is Ermoupoli, a.k.a. Hermoupolis—the Town of Hermes. The town is located on Syros, a Greek island in the Cyclades of the Aegean Sea, and is the capital of the South Aegean region. The hillside town is the heart of Syros which offers a wonderful display of neoclassical architecture and its small streets and winding alleys.

The top-10 list only has two cities in Asia; Jaisalmer in India's Rajasthan state at number nine and Japan's resort town at the foot of Mount Fuji, Fujikawaguchiko. Known as the Golden City for the yellow sand and yellow sandstone used in building every piece of the city's architecture, Jaisalmer's most iconic landmark is Jaisalmer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is one of the very few forts still inhabited by some of the city's residents.

Fujikawaguchiko is on the list of almost everyone traveling to Japan, as it is the gateway to the scenic Fuji Five Lakes area with easy access to numerous natural sites such as hot springs and golf courses, ropeways, and serving as a base to climb the iconic volcano.

Here are the 10 most welcoming cities in the world according to Booking.com:

1. Arraial d'Ajuda, Brazil

2. Ermoupoli, Greece

3. Viana do Castelo, Portugal

4. Daylesford, Australia

5. Grindelwald, Switzerland

6. Moab, United States

7. Uzes, France

8. Mazatlan, Mexico

9. Jaisalmer, India

10. Fujikawaguchiko, Japan
