11 Commuter Line Trips Disrupted as Floods Hit Jakarta

31 January 2024 11:20 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPT Kereta Commuter Indonesia (KAI Commuter) apologized for the disruption to Commuter Line services this morning due to flooding on the upstream and downstream routes between Jakarta Kota-Tanjung Priok Station. The flooding disrupted at least 11 rail trips in the Priok area.

“There has been flooding on the upstream and downstream routes between Jakarta Kota-Tanjung Priok Station due to heavy rain. We apologize for the inconvenience,” KAI Commuter said on its official account @CommuterLine on Wednesday, January 31.

The 11 trains affected by the flood were on the Jakarta Kota-Tanjung Priok Line, namely KA 2400, KA 2402, KA 2404, KA 2406, KA 2408, KA 2410, KA 2412, KA 2401, KA 2403, KA 2405, and KA 2407.

According to KAI Commuter, rail service would continue at limited speeds when floodwaters in the area begin to recede. Passengers are advised to use the alternate route to and from Bandan Station by using the Manggarai - Tanah Abang - Kampung Bandan - Pasar Senen - Jatinegara train which remains normal. The Kampung Bandan - Pasar Senen - Jatinegara train runs from Tanah Abang station.

Apart from that, the Commuter Line of Manggarai - Jakarta Kota was also unaffected by the floods.

KAI Commuter will update the information on the travel conditions affected by the floods in Tanjung Priok via its social media accounts. “Please check the posts on our timeline regularly for Commuter Line travel information. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
