TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The government is rolling out direct cash aid or BLT again starting February 2024. The total budget allocation is IDR 11.25 trillion.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said that the government has decided on a number of food aid programs. One of them is the direct cash aid labeled as the 'Food Risk Mitigation' program.
"The first batch of aid will be provided starting around February. The amount is IDR 200,000 per month," Airlangga said in a press conference on the results of a 'High Level Meeting of the Team for Central Inflation Control' held in Jakarta, 29 January, 2024.
The Finance Ministry has allocated IDR 11.25 trillion to be distributed through the Food Risk Mitigation cash aid program. A total of 18.8 million beneficiary families (KPM) are eligible to receive this assistance.
According to Airlangga, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani has approved the program, with an evaluation period of 3 months.
Airlangga said that this program replaces the BLT El Nino that was distributed at the end of 2023 for two months, with each beneficiary family receiving IDR 200,000 per month.
