Jokowi Welcomes Visit of Timor Leste's Xanana Gusmao in Bogor Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi welcomed the arrival of Timor Leste's Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao on his state visit to Indonesia at the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java on Friday, Jan. 26.
PM Xanana's entourage arrived at the Palace at around 9 a.m. local time, accompanied by the Nusantara corps, cavalry, and the music corps of the Presidential Security Force.
The welcoming procession then proceeded with a welcoming ceremony where both countries' national songs were played. Both leaders inspected the honorable troops after a cannon was blasted 19 times.
After the ceremony, both PM Xanana and President Jokowi introduced respective delegates attending the ceremony. Jokowi was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Agung, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, SOEs Minister Erick Thohir, PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, and Minister of Communications and Informatics Budi Ari Setiadi.
After the introduction, President Jokowi then invited Xanana Gusmao to take pictures together and sign the state guestbook at Lotus Room. After, both leaders head to a veranda to talk.
Jokowi and Xanana then conducted a planting trees action in the backyard of Bogor Palace. Both leaders were seen planting a merawan tree (Hope odorata).
Jokowi and his counterpart headed to the Oval Room after tree-planting to conduct the bilateral meeting. After, Jokowi and Xanana will do a press conference together in the Lotus Room.
