TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) in 2023 built 951 kilometers of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road. President director Budi Harto said the company's positive performance was partly due to its participation in the National Strategic Project (PSN).

Toll road projects that were completed in 2023 included the Sigli Banda–Aceh Toll's Blang Bintang–Baitussalam Sections 5 & 6 (13 km), Indrapura–Kisaran Toll's Indrapura–Limapuluh Section (15 km), Binjai–Langsa Toll Road's Stabat–Tanjung Pura Section (27 km), Indralaya–Prabumulih Toll Road (65 km), Kuala Tanjung–Tebing Tinggi–Parapat Toll Tebing Tinggi–Indrapura Section (20.4 km), and the Tebing Tinggi Junction Section (7 km).

Throughout last year, Hutama Karya generally posted positive financial performance with a net profit of Rp1.66 trillion, a 215.31 percent increase from 2022. In terms of revenue, Hutama Karya booked Rp27.78 trillion in 2023.

In total, Budi said the value of construction contracts in 2023 reached Rp30.79 trillion, with the largest contribution from road and bridge projects. The company also has 43 projects that are still in construction, among them the construction of Malikussaleh University, the KSPN Lake Toba, and the Turyapada Tower Bali.

Last year, Hutama Karya bagged 23 new contracts, a 55.1 percent growth from 2022, consisting of 16 infrastructure projects and 7 building projects.

To support the development of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN), Hutama Karya signed cooperation in various projects last year; from freeways, bridges, flats for civil servants, toll roads, to the construction of the coordinating ministry office 2.
