TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's capital, Jakarta, is expected to see gloomy skies in most areas today, January 17, but temperatures will be quite high—up to 32 degrees Celsius. This is according to the weather forecast released by the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
There is also a chance of low-intensity rain for West Jakarta in the afternoon.
“Stay alert for the possibility of rain with lightning and strong winds of short duration in parts of South Jakarta and West Jakarta in the afternoon,” the agency wrote in the early warning.
Specifically, West Jakarta will be cloudy in the morning, wet with light rain in the afternoon, and cloudy again in the evening and into the early hours of Thursday.
Meanwhile, all other areas of Jakarta will also be overcast in the morning, evening, and early morning on Thursday. The metropolitan city will be covered with thick clouds throughout the day.
The air temperature in Jakarta is estimated to be between 24-32 degrees Celsius with a humidity level of 75-90 percent.
