Edutech Startup Zenius Suspends Business after 20 Years of Operation

4 January 2024 12:23 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One of Indonesia's edutech startups, Zenius Education, announced on Thursday the temporary suspension of its operations. There had been rumors that the educational technology platform had gone bankrupt.

In an official statement, Zenius management said that the company was experiencing operational challenges.

"We are taking strategic steps to temporarily stop operations," the announcement issued on January 4 said. "We realize that this decision will disappoint many parties, especially our loyal users, who have supported and trusted us all this time."

Zenius is an online education platform in Indonesia offering study materials for elementary, middle school, high school, exam preparation, independent exams, and professional upskilling/reskilling. The company has been operating since 2004.

In the announcement, Zenius also expressed its regret for the situation and thanked users for their support and trust over the past 20 years of operation. The management emphasized that it will not stop trying to carry out and realize their vision.
