Transjakarta to Operate 24 Hours on New Year's Eve

29 December 2023 19:14 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta or Transjakarta secretary, Apriastini Bakti Bugiansri, confirmed that the buses will operate 24 hours on New Year's Eve 2024. “Services will run for 24 hours on the main BRT routes,” she said on Friday, December 29, 2023.

Transjakarta will also extend the operating hours of four non-BRT routes serving tourist attractions. The four routes include Pantai Maju to City Hall (Line 1A), Harmoni to Ancol (Line 5H), Taman Mini Indonesia Indah to Tegal Parang (Line 7D), and Ciputat to CSW (Line S21).

The bus on the four routes will run until 2:00 a.m. which is an extension of four hours from the normal operating time.

Transjakarta will add 30 more fleets, especially from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. serving routes from Blok M to Kota, Pulogadung to Monas, Kalideres to Monas, Kampung Melayu to Ancol, Ragunan to Dukuh Atas 2, Kampung Rambutan to Kampung Melayu, Lebak Bulus to Pasar Baru, and Pinang Ranti to Pluit.

The additional operating hours and buses are to facilitate public mobility during the year-end celebrations. "To ensure that people who use Transjakarta services can be well accommodated," he said.

Previously, the Jakarta Transportation Agency announced the rerouting of Transjakarta traffic on Sunday, Dec. 31, as the city administration planned to enforce a car-free night on Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin, which will feature 11 entertainment stages for the New Year's Eve celebrations dubbed Malam Muda Mudi or the night of the youth.
