TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) said that the third phase of groundbreaking ceremonies of projects at the new capital city will be carried out on December 20. Agung Wicaksono, the IKN Authority's deputy for funding and investment, said that construction will begin for projects in three sectors: the green sector, the sector of complementary the national axis ecosystem, and the state institutional sector with non-state budget funding.
"Green refers to greening projects. There is reforestation around the national axis," Agung said in an online media briefing on Friday, December 15. "As IKN has a target to become a world-class forest city, reforestation is important."
For the national axis complementary sector, Agung said, there are residential ecosystem projects as well as electricity-based transportation projects.
In the state institution sector with non-state budget funding, there is a government hospital project. Agung said that the hospital from the Ministry of Health will later be used as a facility for state officials. The public, he said, will only be served by private hospitals.
"There are already three private hospitals whose construction has started. They will serve members of the public," Agung said.
To date, the IKN Authority has concluded two series of groundbreaking ceremonies in the new capital city. The first stage of groundbreakings was carried out on September 21-22 for projects with a total investment value of Rp23.1 trillion. Meanwhile, the second groundbreaking will be carried out on November 1-2 2023 with an investment worth Rp13.1 trillion.
