TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Aiman Witjaksono, the spokesperson for the campaign team of presidential-vice presidential candidates Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md, said that he was ready for questioning at the Jakarta Metro Police on Friday. Aiman said that he will be accompanied by the legal team from Ganjar-Mahfud's campaign to face cases of alleged hate speech.
"Regarding this summons, I leave it completely to the TPN Ganjar-Mahfud legal team," he said as Antara reported on Wednesday, November 29.
Aiman was reported to the police by the Alliance of Civil Society Elements for Democracy for making a statement that the police would not be neutral in the 2024 Election. The words of Aiman, a non-active journalist, are accused of being hate speech and a hoax.
Aiman said he had received the summons for questioning from the Jakarta Metro Police's Criminal Investigations Department yesterday evening. The former television presenter is scheduled for questioning on Friday noon, December 1.
Aiman's alleged remarks that the police were not neutral during a press conference in which he spoke in his capacity as the spokesperson for Ganjar-Mahfud's presidential run's campaign team. He uploaded video footage of him making the statement to his personal Instagram account @aimanwitjaksono on November 11.
Because of what he said, there have been six reports filed of him allegedly spreading hate speech and hoaxes.
