1. Indonesia Exports 2,000 Electric Motorbikes to Malaysia

The Indonesian Retailers and Tenants Association (Hippindo) chairman Budihardjo Iduansjah said Indonesia has exported 2,000 units of electric motorbikes to Malaysia. These locally produced electric motorcycles, United, have arrived in the neighboring country.

“More brands will follow. The total [export] is 2,000 units for the first phase,” Budi said on the sidelines of the Inbuyer EV Expo 2023 at the Smesco Exhibition Hall, South Jakarta on Tuesday, November 28.

2. Govt Urges MSMEs to Help Develop EV Ecosystem in Indonesia

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, urged the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to become involved in developing the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in Indonesia.

"We hope that the MSMEs will become part of the EV ecosystem, especially to become suppliers of components for electric motorcycles," he said at the Inabuyer EV Expo 2023.

He affirmed that Indonesia is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, specifically 358 million tons of CO2, by 2030.

3. Jokowi Responds to Criticism on IKN: 'We Want to be Indonesia-Centric'

President Joko Widodo or Jokowi responded to criticism against the development of Nusantara Capital City or IKN, stating that everyone is free to express their criticism toward the new state capital project.

"Indeed, you are free to express your opinion, but IKN itself is already ratified in a Law," he said during a tree planting event in East Jakarta on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023.

Concerning the belief that IKN has birthed inequalities, Jokowi, said, the development of the new state capital was instead initiated to prove that infrastructure development is not only tied to Java Island.
