TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko Widodo or Jokowi will sign a Presidential Decree regarding the temporary suspension of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Firli Bahuri tonight. The head of state is currently still on a working visit outside Jakarta.
Ari Dwipayana, the coordinator of the President's Special Staff, said that the president is still visiting Papua, and then this afternoon he will travel to West Kalimantan.
"The letter will be signed this evening after he lands in Jakarta," he said at the palace complex on Friday, November 24.
Ari admitted that he didn't know who the temporary replacement candidate for Firli Bahuri was, and said the president would make that decision.
On Wednesday night, the Jakarta Metro Police named KPK chief Firli Bahuri as a suspect in the blackmailing case against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo, after deciding that there was strong evidence based on the results of the case.
Jokowi said little when asked to comment on Firli Bahuri being named as a suspect. "Let's respect all legal processes," the president told reporters during his visit to Biak Numfor Regency, Papua on Thursday, November 23.
