TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The provincial government of Jakarta prepared Rp1.3 trillion to finance the development of the refuse-derived fuel (RDF) Rorotan to process waste into fuel in Rorotan, North Jakarta.
"[The budget] has been included in the Jakarta local government budget (APBD) 2024," said the head of Jakarta Environmental Office Asep Kuswanto to Tempo on Wednesday, November 15.
The bidding process to choose the contractor for this project, the office said, will be conducted at the end of this month, to be ready in February next year.
"The winner of [RDF Rorotan] bidding will be known around the end of February 2024. We're hoping that we will have the candidate to start the development of [RDF Rorotan] in the third or fourth week of February," he said.
If the bidding process goes smoothly, the development is estimated to start in March. According to Asep, the project will be built on 7.8 hectares of land.
Previously, DPRD Jakarta has agreed to the provincial government's plan to loan Rp1 trillion from PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) for this project. "After several considerations, the proposal was approved," said the Head of DPRD Jakarta Praseto Edi Marsudi in Jakarta on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
