OJK to Release P2P Lending Roadmap This Week

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) will release the roadmap for peer-to-peer lending financial technology (P2P lending) this week.
The head of the Supervisory Board of the Micro Financial Agency and Other Financial Services of the OJK Edi Setijawan confirmed that the agency will release the roadmap on November 10, 2023.
"This roadmap will serve as the direction to develop P2P lending in Indonesia until 2028," he said to Tempo on Monday, November 6.
Edi explained several critical points in this roadmap. According to Edi, P2P lending service providers are urged to increase their portion of productive financing distribution in phases. However, Edi said the details of this roadmap will be explained further during its release in three days.
"With this roadmap, the P2P lending industry will become a healthier industry with integrity and oriented to financial inclusivity and consumer protection," he said.
Therefore, he added, the P2P lending industry will be able to contribute toward the national economic growth. Edi also explained that the drafting process of this roadmap involved relevant stakeholders.
"Including OJK, people in the industry, and the general public who uses the P2P services," he concluded.
