Jokowi to Attend MotoGP Mandalika 2023 Next Week
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is set to watch Grand Prix MotoGP Mandalika 2023 on October 13 to 15, 2023, at Mandalika Circuit in NTB.
"President Jokowi will attend and watch MotoGP at Mandalika Circuit," said Jamaluddin Malady, the Head of NTB Tourism Office as quoted from Antara by Tempo today, October 5. Jokowi also attended the MotoGP in Mandalika the previous year.
Jokowi will be accompanied by a number of his ministers to attend the race. "The information we obtained during the meeting with the Coordinating Minister of Maritime and Investment Affairs, the president will come with several ministers, but we are yet to know the details," explained Jamaluddin.
As was last year, Jamaluddin added, Jokowi will also deliver the cup himself to the winner of MotoGP Mandalika. "The preparation for the president's arrival has been discussed in a meeting with NTB regional police several days ago," he said.
Meanwhile, the President Director of Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) Priandhi Satria stated that the preparation for the race is nearly 100%. "From the racing line, marshal, medical center, paddock, grandstand, to inner-circuit, all has been prepared," Priandhi stressed.
MGPA reportedly has painted the curb and run-off area of the circuit, as well as installed the sensors for the track-limit area as per FIM's request. At the paddock area, MGPA coordinated with Dorna Sports SL to prepare the layout and various facilities.
