Agrarian Ministry Ensures No Discrimination on Houses of Worship Certification

21 September 2023 12:23 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Vice Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning and Vice Head of National Agrarian Agency Raja Juli Antoni ensured that no discrimination will take place in the houses of worship certification process.

"Any place of worship of any God will be certified without discrimination in any way," he said in Jakarta today.

He also encouraged the public to safeguard the issued certificate and certify the houses of worship with no land certification yet. "This [certification] is important to prevent the houses of worship from being disrupted by land mafia," he said

Raja Juli delivered twenty certifications with a total of 13,308 square meters across seven districts in Sukoharjo Regency. The certifications are intended for Islamic boarding schools, schools, and the Jami' At Taubah Miftahul Jannah Mosque.

This mosque certification is one of the proofs of the National Houses of Worship and Islamic Boarding School Certification Movement across Indonesia. Through this program, the ministry has certified at least 3,340 houses of worship excluding mosques.

The government also urged houses of worship to soon register their buildings for a certificate for legal certainty. With a certification, people will be able to worship safely and comfortably without the threat of land mafia.
