Indonesia Govt Allotted Rp400 Billion to Repair 15 Roads in West Java

18 September 2023 12:15 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono mentioned that the government has allotted Rp400 billion to repair fifteen roads in West Java included in the Regional Road Presidential Instruction (IJD) program. The information was relayed during his visit to Bogor on Sunday, September 17, 2023.

The minister explained that the 2023 IJD program in West Java targets fifteen roads including two in Bogor Regency, the Sukamakmur-Sukawangi road, and Mengker-Gunung Batu road. The road repair will increase the connectivity between Bogor Regency and Cianjur. Thus, the logistics road will be repaired while simultaneously reducing the traffic congestion in Jalan Raya Puncak.

Basuki targeted the road repair to be finalized this year. "Targeted to the finalized this December," he said.

Meanwhile, Acting Governor of West Java Bey Machmudin stated that road repair through IJD is the realization of the Indonesian government's concern toward regional accessibility.

The total length of the IJD program in 2023 across Indonesia is 2,800 kilometers of road and 2,300 meters of bridge, with a total budget of Rp14.6 trillion. "This proves that the government also paid attention to roads in the regions," Bey said.

In addition to road inspection, Minister Basuki and Bey Machmudin also inspected the location of the Cibeet Reservoir development in Bogor Regency.
