Indonesian Embassy Facilitates Indonesian Students for Internships with South Korean Companies

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - On September 12, 2023, The Indonesian Embassy in Seoul welcomed visits from ten Indonesian students from three colleges in Indonesia who would intern in South Korean companies for 3.5 months. The internship is part of the Indonesia Talent Pool Management Program initiated by the embassy as a strategic step in developing Indonesian young talents.
In a written statement, the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul explained that the internship program is the result of a collaboration of Hana Financial Group with Universitas Indonesia, Institut Teknologi Bandung, and Universitas Bina Nusantara.
The chosen students will intern for 3.5 months, starting September 11, 2023. First, the students will go through Korean Language training and an Introduction to Finance at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, followed by on-the-job training at Hana Bank.
Indonesian Ambassador to South Korea Gandi Sulistyanto expressed his appreciation for this meaningful partnership. "This cooperation shows an impressive commitment from Hana Financial Group and universities in Indonesia to support the growth and development of Indonesian young talents especially in the financial services sector. This will bolster the Indonesia-Korea relationship in addition to enriching students' educational experience," he said.
The Indonesian Embassy in Seoul anticipated that this cooperation would function as a model for future partnerships, with the hope that more universities and South Korean companies to participate in the program. By boosting the relationship between the academic sector and the industrial sector, the program is intended to empower Indonesian students with the skills and knowledge necessary to prosper in the global employment market.
Ambassador Gandi stated at the end of his remarks that the students are expected to excel at three things, namely behavior, skill, and knowledge which will help them succeed on their career path after college.
