TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of Jakarta Transportation Office Syafrin Liputo mentioned that the office will utilize a 5,000-meter square parking area on the east side of Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) located in the former land of Kampung Bambu to anticipate U-17 World Cup 2023.

"The land is owned by the railways company (KAI)," he said when met in South Jakarta today, September 13, 2023.

According to Syafrin, the parking area will hold over 2,500 units of motorcycles. "[The parking area] could hold four-wheel vehicles, but we are anticipating two-wheel vehicles since the access is easier for them," he said.

Local residents surrounding the land have no problem with the parking area, Syafrin ensured. For the time being, the Jakarta Spatial Planning and Development Office is paving the asphalt in the location.

Previously, Syafrin mentioned, that the parking area is part of the renovation agenda of JIS to anticipate the U-17 World Cup 2023 set to be held in Jakarta. In addition to the parking area in JIS, Syafrin said the office also established an additional parking area in Ancol and the land for the former intermediate treatment facility in Sunter (ITF Sunter).
