TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Joko Widodo or Jokowi hosted the 43rd ASEAN Summit Gala Dinner at Hutan Kota by Plataran, Senayan, this evening, September 6, 2023.

Leaders of Southeast Asian countries and key partners gathered at the dinner after attending six high-level meetings today. Leaders from Australia, Canada, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Russia, and the United States, as well as the United Nations, also attended the ASEAN Summit in Jakarta.

“I know it's been a long day as we had six summit meetings today. But now let us enjoy this evening and celebrate our togetherness,” Jokowi said, dressed in traditional Betawi attire.

“Please sit back, relax, and enjoy,” he said, adding that guests would be served the best work of Indonesian youth.

ASEAN leaders and dialogue partners held back-to-back talks today, including on economic cooperation, security issues, the geopolitical climate in the Indo-Pacific region, and other topics. Jokowi chaired the entire string of meetings on the second day of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.
