TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi on Tuesday reviewed the readiness of the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi (Jabodebek) LRT service. After the review, he expressed confidence that the LRT Jabodebek could be inaugurated at the end of August 2023.
"The operation of the Jabodebek LRT will be carried out conservatively. This means that the number of trips will continue to be increased gradually," said Budi Karya, Tuesday, August 22.
Jabodebek LRT has a total of 27 carriages per train set. In the early stages, 10 to 12 carriages per set will be deployed for operation. The number of carriages will be increased in stages based on public interest.
All trains are targeted to operate in October 2023.
Minister Budi Karya was accompanied by Deputy SOE Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo and Jakarta acting governor Heru Budi Hartono. They rode the LRT from the Dukuh Atas Station to Halim Station, and then held a coordination meeting with stakeholders.
