BPOM Revokes License of 12 Traditional Drugs, Cosmetics

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The National Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) revoked the distribution permit for 12 traditional medicinal products, health supplements, and cosmetics that did not meet safety and quality requirements. This was done in an effort to protect the public from harmful substances.
“BPOM found eight traditional medicinal products and health supplements that did not meet safety and quality requirements,” the agency said in a press statement as quoted from its official website, Tuesday, August 1, 2023.
The traditional drug products and health supplements contain prohibited ingredients or contaminants exceeding safe limits, while the four cosmetic products contain prohibited and hazardous materials.
Consuming those products may cause health problems, including digestive system disorders, impaired liver and kidney function, and hormonal disorders.
“Those cosmetic products pose a risk to the health of people who use them because they can cause cancer (carcinogenic) and skin disorders, such as ochronosis (brown-black skin discoloration),” BPOM explained.

Traditional Medicinal Products
- Pegal Linu Husada (name on the packaging: Pegal Linu Husada Cap Tawon Klanceng) distributed by CV Putri Husada.
- Pegal Linu (name on the packaging: Pegal Linu Cap Akar Daun) distributed by CV Akar Daun.
- Sirandi (in glass bottle packaging) distributed by CV Herbal Mulya.
- Sirandi (in plastic bottle packaging) distributed by CV Herbal Mulya.
- Liu Shen Shui distributed by PT Bintang Kupu-Kupu.
- Cairan Sakit Perut Kupu Cair Chi Chung Shui distributed by PT Bintang Butterfly.
- New Tay Pin San Jamu distributed by PT Bintang Kupu-Kupu.
Health Supplement Products
- Feroglobin Kid Drops distributed by PT Vitabiotics Healthcare distribution permit.
Cosmetic Products
- CASANDRA Glam Nude Lipcream 2 distributed by PT Selamat Makmur.
- CASANDRA Lipstick Colorfix (No. 6) distributed by PT Selamat Makmur.
- LA WIDYA CURCUMIN Day Cream distributed by PT Sinar Dios Abadi.
