KPK Names Basarnas Head Henri Alfiandi Corruption Suspect

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named the Head of the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) Young Marshal Henri Alfiandi as a suspect in the bribery case of the procurement of goods and services at the agency in 2021-2023.
“HA together with and through ABC allegedly received bribes from several projects at Basarnas in 2021-2023 amounting to Rp88.3 billion from various vendors who won the projects,” KPK deputy chairman Alexander Marwata said at the KPK building, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
Alex explained that the anti-graft body named five suspects. They are HA, PT MGCS Commissioner MG, PT KAU Director RA, PT IGK Director MR, and Basarnas coordinator head ABC.
Alex said Henri Alfiandi and Lt. Col. Adm. Afri Budi Cahyanto (ABC) are suspected of being bribe recipients. The law enforcement is handed over to the Indonesian Military (TNI) under the supervision of the KPK.
“Further legal proceedings will be completed by a joint team of investigators from the KPK and the TNI in accordance with the law,” Alex added.
The three other suspects, Marilya (MR), Roni Aidil (RA), and Mulsunadi Gunawan (MG), will be directly examined by the KPK.
The three civilian suspects are allegedly violating Article 5 (1a or b) or Article 13 of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended into Law No. 20 of 2001 in conjunction with Article 55 (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.
As previously reported, the KPK conducted a sting operation on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. At least ten people were arrested in Jakarta and Bekasi.
