TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chairman of CentenialZ, a social community of Generation Z (Gen Z), Dinno Ardiansyah, urged young people to participate in the 2024 General Elections with rational minds and combat money politics.
Dino reported three main issues experienced by Gen Z, namely high living costs, limited access to career support, and social gap or poverty. "Gen Z's voices cannot be bought. So the candidates shall employ a rational political approach to reach Gen Z," said Dino in his statement on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
CentenialZ held Festival Gen Z 2023 yesterday. Several figures were invited and spoke at the event, cush as the Trade Minister in the 2020-2022 period Muhammad Lutfi, independent commissioner of BSI Arief Rosyid Hasan, and Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia.
Muhammad Lutfi conceded Dinno's statement. He emphasized that Indonesia has a lot of challenges ahead, one of which is to triple the GDP per capita to US$12,500 before the bonus demography passes. According to Lutfi, one of the answers to this problem is refusing to sell your vote to the wrong hands in upcoming elections. "Our bonus demography will dry up in 2038 to 2040. What we can do is, as Dinno said, don't sell your votes. Don's sell your votes to the wrong hands," Lutfi added.
Similar to Dinno and Lutfi, Arief Rosyid Hasan also urged Gen Z to be self-aware, self-conscious, and self-perceptive. "As Dinno said, since your voice cannot be bought, you have to understand how to position yourself and maximize what you possess. As Lutfi also said, you cannot sell your voice to the wrong hands," Arief said.
