TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia AirAsia explained the chronology of the baggage delay of its passengers onboard flight QZ 753 bound for Bandung-Denpasar on June 29. The departure was scheduled at 16:35 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

The company’s Head of Brand and Communications Indonesia, Mila Lubis, said the delay was due to the weather and flight safety. "That’s why the field team decided to reduce aircraft load by unloading several passengers’ baggage," she told Tempo, Saturday, July 1.

Therefore, the airline decided to send the baggage a day later on June 30. Early on that day, the baggage arrived in Denpasar and was readied to be sent to each destination of the passengers.

According to Mila, all of the passengers had received the baggage since yesterday, June 30. She said that this was an unexpected event and therefore AirAsia Indonesia apologizes to all the passengers affected by the matter.

"Indonesia AirAsia sincerely apologizes to all guests who were affected by the delay in receiving baggage," she said.

She further conveyed that passengers’ safety and comfort are Indonesia AirAsia’s commitment. Mila also ensured that her office will always carry out the best procedures to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers.
