TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Transjakarta bus service for the Soekarno-Hatta Airport route will start operating soon. The route will go through a one-month trial period from 4 July, starting at 7:30 am daily.
The head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency Syafrin Liputo said that during the trial period, Transjakarta passengers bound for Soekarno-Hatta Airport will not be charged for fares. "During the trial, the bus rides are free of charge," he said when met at the City Hall in Central Jakarta, Thursday, June 29, 2023.
The Jakarta Transportation Office will determine the proper fare for this airport bus service after the trial run is complete. "The rate will be determined later," said Sayfrin said.
PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) will operate 4-5 low deck type buses for this route, which is between the Kalideres Terminal in West Jakarta to the Cargo Terminal and the Angkasa Pura II Office in Tangerang, Banten. It is estimated that it will take 45 for the bus to travel between the first and last stop.
With the trial, the Jakarta Transportation Office hopes to get a complete picture of the service, including the characteristics of passengers' journeys and route operations.
Syafrin hopes that the Office will be able to get a final, comprehensive review in the last two weeks of July.
