TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Acting Governor of Jakarta, Heru Budi Hartono, said that there is no definite time yet on when the Transjakarta bus service to Soekarno-Hatta Airport will be opened. To date, the Jakarta Provincial Government is still discussing it, and there is a plan to have a trial run early next month.
"It will enter a trial phase first. You may ask the Department of Transportation, they are meeting to discuss it," he said in Sunter, North Jakarta on Friday, June 16.
At the end of May this year, Heru received a proposal from PT Angkasa Pura II to have Transjakarta buses bound for and from Soekarno Hatta Airport, specifically to transport employees working at the airport.
He said he would ask the Jakarta Transportation Agency about the progress of this cooperation discourse. The provincial government will also meet with Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi to talk about the issue. However, Heru Budi firmly stated that at this time there has been no official collaboration for Transjakarta buses serving Soekarno Hatta Airport workers.
Heru ensured that if the plan pushes through, the Transjakarta bus service will also be available to all members of the public, not only airport employees.
Angkasa Pura II president director Muhammad Awaluddin once proposed to have buses from and to Soekarno-Hatta Airport operating at certain hours to transport employees. For example, between 6:00 and 9:00 and between 18:00 and 21:00.
