TEMPO.CO, Mataram - The Lombok International Airport – operated by the state airport operator Angkasa Pura I – announced that it has introduced a new health policy for air travel, which includes adjusted provision on the use of face masks as regulated by the Covid-19 handling task force.
The adjustment comes as a follow-up to the Transportation Ministry’s circular No.16/2023 overseeing health protocols of air travelers.
Lombok Aiport general manager Rahmat Adil Indrawan said that the airport is already prepared to implement the health circular and believes this latest adapted health regulation will present a positive impact on the industry and specifically the Lombok Airport.
“It will drive economic recovery and tourism in a sustainable manner,” said Rahmat on Monday, June 12, 2023.
Based on the circular letter, air travelers are no longer required to show a Covid-19 vaccination certificate. However, several recommendations will continue to be made to ensure healthy and safe travel is maintained to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
Domestic and international air travelers are advised to continue carrying out the Covid-19 vaccination up to the second booster or fourth dose, especially for people who have a high risk of transmitting the virus. People traveling with illness are still strongly advised to wear face masks.
