TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo called in Perindo Party chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo to the State Palace, Central Jakarta, in the midst of the reshuffle issue of the Indonesia Onward Cabinet.
“God willing, we will meet the President this morning. The chairman will deliver a press statement after the meeting,” Arief Budiman, the head of the party’s research and development agency, confirmed to Tempo on Monday, May 15, 2023.
Based on the information obtained by Tempo, Tanoesoedibjo was scheduled to meet the President at 10:00 Jakarta time. However, the meeting agenda is not yet known.
Signal of Cabinet Reshuffle
The signal for a cabinet reshuffle emerged after the President openly revealed why he did not invite the NasDem Party chairman Surya Paloh to the meeting with the political parties’ chairman at the Palace. This was because NasDem created its own coalition along with the opposition parties of the Democratic Party and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).
“We talk it as it is,” the state head said after visiting Sarinah Mall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, May 4, 2023.
Jokowi also emphasized that apart from being a public official, he is also a political official so it is realistic for him to talk about politics.
