Indonesia Signs 19 Partnership Deals in Hannover Messe 2023

17 April 2023 12:53 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaIndonesian Industry Ministry’s Director General of Resilience, Territory, and International Industrial Access, Eko SA Cahyanto, confirmed that Indonesia signed 19 new cooperation agreements at the Hannover Messe 2023.

“One of the goals of Indonesia's participation as a partner country for the Hannover Messe 2023 is the realization of industrial cooperation and foreign investment. There are several cooperation agreements to be signed, namely G to B (government to business) agreements and B to B (business to business) agreements,” said Eko in Hannover, Germany, on Sunday, April 16.

Eko mentioned that the 19 cooperation deals consisted of three government-to-business agreements and 13 business-to-business agreements.

They cover cooperation in the semiconductor, solar power, medical equipment, waste management, chemical industry, CNC milling development, internet of things, digital industry, charging systems and electric vehicle batteries, investment and industrial areas, energy sustainability and transition, human resources, as well as start-up and innovation.

It was hoped that the deals would bring many changes in improving the industry in various fields and also open access to a wider industrial market.

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto explained that the Hannover Messe 2023 would bring in a very large investment value.

“Through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that has been officially agreed upon, there will be Rp30 trillion of investment entering Indonesia. Of course, we hope that through the Hannover Messe, there will be more investment coming in,” Airlangga said.
