TEMPO.CO, Jakarta -  Amidst celebrating the 77th-anniversary commemoration of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU), House of Representatives (DPR) speaker Puan Maharani on Sunday said she will back the move to modernize the country’s primary weapons system (Alutsista).

“The House of Parliaments together with the government are in synergy to build a strategic policy in modernizing the Air Force’s alutsista,” said the DPR Speaker at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on April 9.

According to Puan, members of the House are committed to continuing to support the needs of the Indonesian Air Force to better serve its role in maintaining the integrity of the country’s Unitary State (NKRI) and providing better community service.

Through the functions of budget, legislation, and supervision, she claims the House is highly committed to participating in efforts to build the Armed Force’s strength in carrying out the national defense programs and building a military defense posture by selecting the latest, new, and needed defense equipment.
