TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo and First Lady Iriana paid a working visit to Tuban, East Java, on Thursday to carry out a number of activities, including planting rice and visiting traditional markets.
Based on the press release received in Jakarta today, the President departed for East Java using the presidential plane Indonesia-1 from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base at 07:10 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) and arrived at Juanda International Airport, Sidoarjo Regency, around 08:00 WIB.
At Juanda International Airport, the President and First Lady were welcomed by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Military Commander V/Brawijaya Major General Farid Makruf and his wife, East Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Toni Hermanto and his wife, Fleet Commander II Rear Admiral Maman Firmansyah and his wife, and Air commander Colonel Pnb. Sugeng Budiono and his wife.
The President then continued the journey to Tuban Regency by using the Indonesian Air Force Super Puma helicopter.
In Tuban, he was scheduled to visit the Food Sovereign Area of the Indonesian Farmers Union in Senori Village, Merakurak District, plant rice, and hold dialogues with a number of farmer representatives.
After that, the President will head to Sambonggede Market to greet the traders and distribute social assistance.
President Jokowi and the First Lady will then return to Juanda International Airport by helicopter and take off from East Java. Accompanying them on the flight to East Java include the Presidential Military Secretary Rear Admiral Hersan, Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres) Commander Maj. Gen. Rafael Granada Baay, and Presidential Secretariat’s Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media Bey Machmudin.
