TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Inspectorate General of Finance Ministry plan to hold a meeting discussing the personal wealth of a tax office official who is currently under the spotlight, Rafael Alun Trisambodo.
According to the KPK Deputy of prevention and monitoring Pahala Nainggolan, the meeting will be held at the KPK headquarters in South Jakarta on February 27. “We will have a meeting with the inspectorate,” he said on Sunday.
The meeting will specifically look into the source of the tax official’s wealth and what assets are not being reported in the annual wealth report (LHKPN).
Rafael, who works as the South Jakarta tax office chief under the Finance Ministry’s directorate general of taxation, became the talk of the town after his son, Mario Dandy Satriyo (20), was named a suspect in a vicious beating of another teenager.
This internet community highlighted the lavish lifestyle shown by Mario who seemed to casually show off his riding skills onboard a large CC motorcycle and his Jeep Rubicon, which he used in the beating. Following his son’s antics, Rafael’s status as a tax official, his total reported wealth of Rp56 billion, and other aspects related to his wealth were highlighted.
Amidst the investigation into his wealth, the Finance Ministry had temporarily stripped Rafael’s position as a tax office chief.
