TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Bina Marga road agency head Hari Nugroho admitted that road access to Jakarta International Stadium or JIS has not been completed yet because the process requires two years of budgeting and even planning.
“So why JIS [construction project] is not yet finished? Because we need two years of budgeting and planning,” said Hari in Jakarta Regional Legislative Council (DPRD) Building on Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
He also said the provincial government would build parks and sidewalks at the exit gate which connect access roads that are still under construction. “So first, we open the road access, once the road construction is done, the canal completes, then we construct the sidewalk. Building them is not as easy as turning one’s hand. It requires steps,” Hari said.
The construction of sidewalks and parks in JIS area was targeted to complete this March. Besides, there would be no more land acquisition for road access and sidewalks. The project was estimated to cost around Rp16 billion.
Hari made the statement in response to complaints about JIS’ poor facilities voiced by a number of people who went to Dewa 19 music concert which was held on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Jakarta-owned developer PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) Vice President Corporate Secretary, Syahrial Syarif, was evaluating the event implementation at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS).
“We will immediately carry out a comprehensive evaluation of the Dewa 19 concert, including any complaints that may arise,” said Syahrial on Sunday, February 5, 2023.
