TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono named the house of First Lady Fatmawati Soekarno in South Jakarta as a cultural heritage building through Governor’s Decree or Kepgub No. 1207 of 2022.
“Determining Ibu Fatmawati's house as a Cultural Heritage Building,” as read in the decree quoted on Friday, January 13, 2023.
Heru inked the Governor's Decree on December 27, 2022. Located at Jalan Sriwijaya Raya No. 26, Selong Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta, the building has an area of 718 square meters with a land area of up to 1,400 square meters.
The borders of the building are as follows:
- North side: Residential House (Jalan Sriwijaya Raya Number 24)
- South side: Jalan Sriwijaya III
- West side: Residential House (Sriwijaya Street Number 9)
- East side: Jalan Sriwijaya Raya
The Kepgub 1207/2022 explained three considerations for the naming of cultural heritage. One of them is the recommendation submitted by the Cultural Heritage Expert Team (TACB) dated February 16, 2022.
The decree also wrote that the house was built between 1955-1956 in the architectural style of a villa that was popular in the 1950s. The house was specially designed for Fatmawati, the wife of the first President of Indonesia Soekarno, as the First Lady.
