TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo announced that the 2022 Asean Football Federation Championship or AFF Cup at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Main Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta could be attended by 70 percent of the venue's capacity.
“We will follow up by conducting a risk assessment, and yesterday we issued a permit for attendance of AFF Cup activities. Currently, we set the cap of 70 percent of the venue capacity,” said Sigit on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
He explained that this permit was granted after the Youth and Sports Ministry and the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) submitted a permit application to the police. If the event with a 70 percent attendance runs successfully, it will be raised to 100 percent.
“This is also to prepare for better competition, we will host U20 (FIFA World Cup) so everyone must be ready,” said Sigit.
The Indonesian national team will have their opening match at the 2022 AFF Cup against Cambodia on Friday, December 23, at 16:30 Jakarta time at the GBK Main Stadium, Senayan, Jakarta.
Then the next home match will be against Thailand on December 29, 2022, with a limited number of spectators.
“We would like to thank the Indonesian National Police for giving permission for spectators at a limited number to attend two matches of the 2022 AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup,” said PSSI chairman Mochamad Iriawan.
