Sandiaga Uno Promotes 9 Trails of Thematic Tourism in Borobudur

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno invited tourists to visit the country's super-priority destination, Borobudur Temple, and experience the thematic travel pattern titled "Borobudur Trail of Civilization" (BToC).
"This program makes us learn about the history of heritage in Borobudur Temple. There is an outstanding civilization that we can adapt to today's life," Sandiaga said in a statement on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
According to Sandiaga, the BToC uses the potential and culture of local communities in 16 villages in the Borobudur area which are packaged into nine trails of thematic tourism. "We have completed the Borobudur civilization trails. Take a trip to Borobudur and explore the BToC," Sandiaga said.
In the tour packages collaborated with the community homestays, tourists will get to know the culture and life of local people through interaction with homeowners.
Here are the nine trails of thematic tourism:
- Waluku: Cultivating Civilization
In this theme, tourists can take part in planting rice in the fields and cultural processions.
- Body and Soul
This trip offers yoga and traditional massages for tourists to maintain a healthy body and soul.
- Skilled Hands
Tourists will be asked to participate in pottery and batik-making using natural dyes.
- Tropical Flora's Wanderland
The theme of this trip will invite tourists to carry out adventure tourism activities, such as identifying the flora found in the reliefs of Borobudur Temple.
- Walking with the Stars
In this theme, tourists will engage in camping activities and learn about the close relationship between astronomy and the existence of Borobudur Temple.
- Sudhana Manohara: The Eternal Love Story
Tourism activities offered in this theme show romance through art performances and dinners.
- Journey of the Stones
On this trip, tourists will enjoy stories about the history of the construction of Borobudur Temple. Tourists will be invited to ride getek or a bamboo raft, a transportation mode used to take stones for the temple.
- Jataka Fable Stories
This trip is inclusive and accessible to all ages, including children. Tourists will learn moral values through entertainment programs based on the animal characters in the reliefs of Borobudur Temple.
- Music and Rhyme
The theme of this trip will invite tourists to get to know the archipelago's musical instruments carved in Borobudur Temple. Tourists will conduct workshops on its music and storytelling.
"We assure you that there are no potential threats that may disrupt your tour. What needs to be increased is [the awareness] over weather and disaster threats that we have coordinated with the regional government," Sandiaga Uno concluded.
