TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta Metro Police Director of Traffic Unit, Senior Commissioner Latif Usman, said the mobile camera used by Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement or the ETLE Mobile captured an average of 250 vehicles per day, depending on the condition and location of the road.
"In a day it can reach 250 vehicles," he said at Jakarta Metro Police HQ on Thursday, December 15, 2022.
Latif stated that those ticketed are car and motorcycle drivers, with various types of violations. But the violations were mostly found during the odd-even traffic policy.
"Some didn't wear a helmet, some went in the opposite direction of the road, and some did a complete violation, such as violating the traffic signs, didn't use seat belts, violating the odd-even traffic rule. Well, mostly are during the odd-even policy," he said.
The electronic ticketing system is implemented after the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo banned manual ticketing. The cameras used for traffic e-ticketing are ETLE Mobile (operating in a patrol vehicle) and ELTE Static (set at several locations).
The Jakarta Metro Police are operating 11 Mobile cameras and 57 static cameras. The Traffic Directorate plans to add as many as 70 ETLE Static cameras.
