Tebet Eco Park Wins Award in Singapore; Anies Baswedan Talks of Collaboration

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan highlighted the spirit of collaboration in the planning and construction of Tebet Eco Park on his social media as he announced that the green park received the 2022 Singapore Landscape Architecture Awards.

The city park won the Gold Award or the highest award for the Parks and Recreational category. This award event was held in Singapore on December 12, 2022.

The great news was published by Siura Studio, which designed the park, via its account @siura.studi on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Siura Studio stated that the victory is a great achievement for Jakarta in its efforts to provide more green spaces with ecological designs.

Collaboration in Tebet Eco Park Project

The revamp of the green space originating from Tebet park, Anies explained, was planned since 2019, but it was carried out in 2021 and was officially inaugurated after the revitalization was completed in April 2022.

He emphasized the spirit of collaboration in designing the park. According to him, public spaces must be designed with a collaborative approach by involving experts in their scientific fields, as well as residents who conduct their daily activities in the park. “[Instead of] just following the preferences of those in authority,” Anies wrote on his social media on Wednesday.

The former Jakarta Governor thus congratulated Siura Studio and everyone involved in the collaboration. Previously, the branding of Jakarta as a City of Collaboration proclaimed since Anies Baswedan’s era was planned to be replaced by Acting Governor Heru Budi Hartono with ‘Success Jakarta for Indonesia’.
