JakPro Ensures Formula E Race to be Held at Ancol Circuit Next Year

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Jakarta Propertindo (JakPro) will ensure that the Formula E electric car race will be held next year at the Jakarta International E-Prix Circuit (JIEC). JakPro itself has signed a partnership with Formula E Operation (FEO) to organize Formula E Jakarta for three seasons, from 2022 to 2024.

"It will be held at the Ancol Formula E Circuit. The Acting Governor has asked JakPro to prepare for Formula E next year," Said Vice President Corporate Secretary of PT JakPro Syachrial Syarief, quoted from Tempo.co, Wednesday, 16 November 2022.

JakPro itself has collaborated with PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol to rent land for the circuit in the location. In the first year of implementation, JakPro rented the location for four months, while in the second and third years, the land only rented for a month.

Further information, the FIA has released the Formula E race schedule for the 2023 season. Formula E Jakarta has been assigned to hold the electric car race twice in June 2023.

In the next season, Formula E will hold 17 series with the opening series in Mexico on January 14. Then Indonesia will hold two races on June 3-4 2023, and the races will conclude in London on July 29-30 2023.

Formula E 2023 will also have three new race series, namely in Cape Town (South Africa), Hyderabad (India) and Sao Paulo (Brazil). In addition, there are still two race series with locations that have not been determined and will be announced at a later date.
