TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, reported that as of now, no Indonesian citizens were recorded as victims in the bomb explosion in Istanbul.

"Until now, there is no information about Indonesian citizens who become a victim," the Embassy stated in a release on Monday, November 14, 2022, as reported by Antara.

The Indonesian Embassy in Ankara and the Indonesian Consulate General in Istanbul continue to communicate and coordinate with local authorities and Indonesian communities around the explosion area. Based on the Indonesian Consulate General in Istanbul's records, there are 500 Indonesian citizens who are staying in Istanbul.

However, the location where the bomb exploded is one of the favorite destinations of foreign tourists, including Indonesians, who travel to Istanbul.

"Indonesian citizens in Istanbul and its surrounding areas are urged to increase awareness and avoid crowded places unless it is urgent," the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs wrote in a press release on Monday, November 14, 2022.

Indonesian citizens in Istanbul and its surrounding areas are also urged to contact local authorities and any Indonesian representatives in the event of an emergency.
