TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned telecommunication firm Telkomsel on Wednesday announced the strengthening of internet broadband coverage throughout the G20 Bali summit by maximizing its 7,800 base transceiver stations (BTS), which will serve 4G/LTE and 5G services.
"Providing these two aspects is important to ensure that coverage does not have blank spots, [preparing to sufficiently] serve the increasing needs of customers at the G20 peak event," said Network Director of Telkomsel Nugroho during a press conference in Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, Wednesday, October 20.
Telkomsel has also thoroughly prepared for the potential high communication traffic spikes in numerous areas passed by the delegates, such as lodging areas, main event locations, airports, ports, and tourist destinations.
The telecommunication company also announced that it will work in conjunction with 382 cellular telecommunication firms from 180 countries across the globe, which include the 48 companies from the entire G20 summit delegates who will be present in Bali.
Vice President of Network Service Management Area for Java Bali Telkomsel Juanita Erawati said that the company has also provided 5G networks at a number of key points which will later become the main areas to support the peak activities of the G20 Summit.
These crucial areas, said Juanita Erawati, include I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, the Nusa Dua area, the Garuda Wisnu Kencana tourist area, including the Media Center area located at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC), and is also ready to serve the needs of telecommunication access for more people. of 1,000 media crews from various countries.
