TEMPO.CO, Tangerang - State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II or AP II is determined to open a public electric vehicle or EV charging station (SPKLU) at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport in early November.
AP II corporate official Yado Yarismano said that the EV charging station at the airport will be the company's form of contribution to accelerating the development of battery-powered vehicles in the country. It will also support the 2022 G20 Indonesia Presidency which highlights three main topics, including the energy transition.
"We hope that this SPKLU can ease users of electric vehicles so that more people will switch to electric vehicles," said Yado on Friday, October 14, 2022.
For the early stages, the SPKLU will be available at Terminal 3 of the airport to support the G20 Summit which is slated to take place on November 15 and 16, 2022, in Bali. Electric cars will be mobilized as transportation mean for the delegates transiting at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.
"The SPKLU in Terminal 3 at this early stage is used to support the operation of electric vehicles in the G20 Summit. There are 10 parking slots for energy charging, with 1 unit of Fast Charging DC that can quickly charge electric cars in minutes, and two Normal Charging AC," Yado explained.
There has also been a development plan for SPKLU in Terminal 3 until 2025.
The electric vehicles used at Soekarno-Hatta Airport include electric taxis, electric buses, electric bicycles used by airport staffers, then electric golf cars/boogie cars for passenger transportation in the terminal, segway, to Skytrain, as well as the Airport Train Station.
