Jokowi to Lead Annual Ceremony of Pancasila Sanctity Day

30 September 2022 14:23 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Joko Jokowi Widodo is scheduled to lead the annual ceremony to commemorate Pancasila Sanctity Day on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at the Pancasila Sakti Monument, Lubang Buaya, East Jakarta. He will act as the ceremony inspector.

“The ceremony starts at 8,” said Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Friday, September 30, 2022.

A number of ministers will attend the ceremony, including Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Social Minister Tri Rismaharini, Education Minister Nadiem Makarim, the Indonesian Military (TNI) Commander General Andika Perkasa, and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Last year, the President led the same ceremony at the same place under strict health protocols and was attended virtually by a number of state officials due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tempo observed via the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube channel that Jokowi was accompanied by Vice President Ma'ruf Amin. The House of Representatives (DPR) Speaker Puan Maharani, Chair of the People's Consultative Assembly Bambang Soesatyo, and Chair of the Regional Representative Council La Nyalla Mattalitti, as well as several Onward Cabinet ministers, were also present.

Pancasila Sanctity Day has been commemorated since 1966 as initiated and ordered by the then Army Commander General Suharto on September 17, 1966.
