Metro Jaya Police Uncover 45 Narcotics Cases in 4 Days

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Metro Jaya Police narcotics investigation directorate announced that it has uncovered 45 narcotics abuse cases from August 21 to August 25, 2022. 

"We have uncovered drug crimes from the cooperation between the Metro Jaya Police Drug Administration with the drug investigation unit," said Metro Jaya Police spokesperson Sr. Cmr. Endra Zulpan on Friday, August 26, Antaranews reported.

From the 45 cases, police have arrested 66 people who were all named as suspects. Endra also said that police confiscated various types of narcotics as evidence and IDR 1 billion worth of money.

In the four-day drug busts, police managed to confiscate 626.75 kilograms of marijuana, 131.526 kilograms of crystal meth, and 108,128 ecstasy pills. 

“We have gotten used to uncovering narcotics [cases] here at the Metro Jaya Police. We have zero tolerance [policy],” said the spokesperson.
