Traveloka to Receive Funding from Thailand-based Firm

1 August 2022 09:14 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaJakarta-based online travel startup Traveloka will receive funding from Thailand-based oil and gas giant PTT Oil and Retail Business (OR) through its subsidiary, PTTOR International Holdings Pte. Ltd. in Singapore.

President and Chief Executive Officer of OR Jiraphon Kawswat said the collaboration between Thailand’s SOE and the lifestyle super app would provide additional lifestyle solutions to customers.

“This is also in line with OR's strategy to become a one-stop solution for all lifestyle-related services,” he said as quoted from Kaoho International, Sunday, July 31, 2022.

The value of the funding was not revealed. However, based on the report of Bloomberg, the online travel agent has almost raised funding of more than US$200 million, or around Rp2.9 trillion.

The collaboration was also considered to provide growth opportunities for OR and Traveloka in the domestic and international markets as both could look for new investment opportunities together with partners to address customer needs.
