Jakarta Establishes Task Force to Supervise ACT

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Jakarta Provincial Government established a task force to oversee the humanitarian organization Aksi Cepat Tanggap or ACT which is under the public spotlight for alleged misuse of public funds. The allegation was first revealed in Tempo Magazine's July 2, 2022 edition.
"A task force, a team has been formed to carry out surveillance and checks," said Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria at Jakarta City Hall on Thursday, July 21, 2022, as quoted from Antara.
Riza stopped short of revealing the parties involved in the task force. Riza underlined that permits related to the group were under the authority of the city’s Social Agency and Capital Investment and One Stop Service (DPMPTSP).
Riza also refused to explain the details of its current fate, adding that ACT's operating permit is still being discussed.
On July 14, Riza said that ACT's permit is in the process of being revoked following the recommendation of the Social Agency to DPMPTSP.
The Ministry of Social Affairs had revoked ACT's license to collect public donations and goods due to a violation of Article 6 (1) of Government Regulation No. 29/1980 on the gathering of donations.
Additionally, the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) blocked 60 bank accounts belonging to ACT and its subsidiaries because they were suspected of using funds for illegal activities.
